Student Foundations for Community Sexual Violence Prevention
Saturday March 8, 2025 10:30am - 11:30am PST
Join the West Seattle High School Sexual Violence Resource Group in talking about how to tailor effective sexual violence prevention to the needs of your school community. Reflect on the problems that distinguish as well as unite student bodies across schools, ways to take advocacy beyond consent education, and how to connect teachers and larger systems with student campaigns against sexual violence. Hear what has worked (or failed) for a student group focused on sexual violence prevention, and leave feeling inspired, motivated, and connected to make effective community change!

Disabilities and the Risk of Sexual Violence LIMITED
Saturday March 8, 2025 2:15pm - 3:15pm PST
An informational presentation regarding this as an issue and why it is not talked about more, followed by some discussion around the culture of talking about people with disabilities' experiences related to sexual assault. I really think this would be a good topic to discuss at SOCCS because while many are unaware of experiences that people with disabilities have had with sexual violence, more people have become aware of it in recent years. I would not only like to continue that trend of awareness, but additionally educate people on how to talk about the issue in the larger context of conversations they may have around Sexual Violence in the future.
