About me
When influencing becomes an industry, how do we make sure that child stars of the most popular accounts are keeping their children safe and affording them financial compensation for their work?
As a high school senior at UPrep, I worked to craft and introduce legislation (HB 2032) with Washington State Representative Emily Wicks to ensure that these child stars have a right to privacy and to financial compensation. In 2022, following Representative Wicks’ retirement, I partnered with Representative Kristine Reeves to re-introduce HB 2032 as HB 1627, and I was able to testify for HB 1627 in committee. This real-world government experience has helped me better understand the inner workings of the Washington State legislature and prepared me for my intended career in government. As part of my advocacy work, I also manage my own website and social media presence.
